Here's my problem.

The first time I installed CLEO 3, and tried to load my game, it crashed halfway through the loading bar.

I uninstalled it, but ever since then my game has never gotten past that point. I've reinstalled it several times, and tried almost every variation of every file that has been linked to in this thread, none of which have helped. Even the compact.exe doesn't make a difference. Same crash, same point.

So what's happened? Why did initially installing this program cause my game to crash irrevocably every time afterwards, regardless of whether the program was currently installed or not?

I'm running version 1.00 on Windows XP, and this is the first time I've had a problem with it.
