I also have a problem thats different from everything here, i do everything right even when i go into the game in the bottom left is says cleo 3 and when i go into game it says in top left if you see this message that means CLEO 3 is working properly so then i press ALT Q E (because thats how you open skin selector i think) and then the game freezes...and says GTA San Andreas is not responding but if i dont press ALT Q E game works fine any one know what this is?

cry ive got a problem with my gta san andreas
ive seen u recommend ppl to the un-cracked version (i think)....(cause thas wat i need if u can get me this it wud be much thanxz)....after download ..i installed a enb series (graphics) mod to the sa mian directory folder as the instructions told me....but when i try to start the gta_sa.exe ...it shows the hour glass then nothing happens mad .....when i try to patch or downgrade atleast try to figure out by my self ..its says gta_sa.exe unknown.....cant continue cause file contnets unknown..:wow:...im lost dont no wat to do...and i really wanna mod...can any one simply me with the original version ....that can be moded....like with the enb series mod cause when its in the folder it doesnt start but when i take out d3d9.dll the game starts perfectly without any problems can anybody help me with this plzz sad ????

I got everything but still cleo doesnt work i downgraded it to v 1.0 i deleted all files from cleo_saves but it still doesnt work plz help

Hey guys...I downloaded some free running mods and it won't work.It enters the game and it stops at loading it just quits game and it says error gta-sa.exe.WHAT should i do?

What is your version of gta-sa.exe? Many of mods were done for gta-sa.exe 1.0 US version.

So has anybody actually found a solution to this problem yet? Hope im not necro posting but I really want to know also. Ive tried practically everything on all eight pages in this thread and still nothing works for me. My problem happens just right after the game loads to 100%. Then it kicks me back to my desktop and displays the message "gta_sa.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I get the same message with the gta_sa_compact.exe file to.

My only assumption now is that I simply have a bogus/defective copy of San Andreas that flat out will not work with Cleo 3. And yes I doubled checked and it is V1.00. Not sure if its a US copy but it only gives you English/Spanish languages so im assuming its got to be a US version. Still its a darn shame because that's the whole reason I got the PC version of San Andreas was to mod. If somebody else has a solution to this. Or has this exact problem I am having then im all eyes.

When i remove cleo.asi it works but when i add it i cant start san andreas and it says gtasa.exe has stopped working please help i have been trying to fix this for 2 weeks help me.

I think i need a different cleo.asi becuase when i use the cleo installer the game doesn't evern start but when i use the archive the game crashes a centimetre just before the end of the loading bar on the loading screen please help

Hello I have just installed a mod called alien city. I did everything as I was instructed. But as i opened the exe file an Quick opcode error message came. It said you need 1.0 us version or compact(the actual message was too long hard to remeber). I tried the compact version it didnt work and the hoodlum one didnt work either.... Plz help. What can be wrong i am helpless

Im haveing the same problems with CLEO 4. im on GTA SA EU V 1.0 (i know that for sure). i did everything correct. i ran everything as administrator. but im on vista. and the exe that Seemann segested doesent work. what can i POSSIBLY DO.

Hello forummembers,

I have read the whole topic and there was not anyone who has my problem.
I have installed Cleo3 correctley.
When I startup SA, Im at the main menu and there are yellow words at bottom left corner.
But when I have chosen a savegame, the screen stays black.
Nothing happens.
I tried the .dll files from the archive of cleo3 and tried the ASILoader too.
It still stays at black screen.
UAC is turned off, set the compatibelity on Windows98/ME.
That is the only option to make SA work and wich fixes the mouse problem.
Without cleo, SA start up normal.
Im on Vista Home x64.
gta_sa.exe is 14.383.616 bytes, 1.0 US

Im out of words and have no cleu why it doesnt work.

Try turning off the compatibility. I'm running gta sa on win 7 x64 without compatibility. And try to unninstall cleo 3 and install cleo 4. Also you can install clean gta sa without any mods and run it with cleo 3.

No, I can not run SA with compatibility turned off.
It will freeze and mouse will get stuck.
Vista and 7 are different OS.

EDIT

I have deleted the SA folder and installed a fresh copy.
This time I have named the folder "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas"
Then placed the needed .dll and cleo.asi and now it worked.
How strange, I never had this weird situation like yesterday.
When reinstalling Vista, I copied the files into my USB drive.
And later after finishing reinstalling, I placed the files back.
It didnt worked, how mysterious is that.
